Last Friday I had the pleasure of being invited to Guildford Spectrum Leisure Complex to celebrate their 25th birthday. 43 million guests have been through their doors since they opened in 1993. That’s a pretty impressive statistic. Read on to find out more about what took place…
Everyone was feeling cheery on this cold and sunny morning as we got together to celebrate Spectrum’s 25th birthday. 1.7 million guests a year visit Guildford Spectrum and we are proud to run our gymnastics and trampolining programmes from this fantastic venue. Guildford Spectrum is the UK’s number 1 leisure complex and it’s very exciting to be a part of it.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
The deputy mayor of Guildford, Cllr Mike Parsons, helped with proceedings and he congratulated everyone on the success of Spectrum and encouraged us to keep it going. I was very pleased to get the opportunity to speak with the deputy mayor who was extremely happy to be celebrating this local landmark.

Guildford Spectrum’s mascot ‘Specky’ the dog also made an appearance. ‘Specky’ was very busy meeting children and families and having his photo taken. No birthday party is complete without a birthday cake and there was a spectacular celabratory cake which the deputy mayor cut for us all to share.

Freedom Leisure Centre Manager Nyssa Jackson said,
“Anyone from around the area knows of Guildford Spectrum; it has been part of local life for a quarter of a century! People in the area either grew up enjoying it’s facilities or have brought their children here, while the superb facilities support local residents and clubs to exercise and partake in sport.”
IT’S NOT A PARTY WITHOUT BALLOONS
We have been holding gymnastics and trampolining classes at Spectrum for 8 years now and we look forward to welcoming hundreds more Flair families to our gymnastics clubs in the years to come.
